» About Us

The Speaking Machine Toastmasters Club chartered on April 4, 1988. While the club is actively involved in the Elk Grove Community, our primary focus is to assist each member in developing their communication and leadership skills. We strive to provide a consistent and congenial atmosphere where individuals can “give voice to their potential." Meetings are fun, filled with information and crowned with thoughtful, effective evaluations to help each of us improve.

We emphasize every aspect of the Toastmaster International program. In the community, we have judged many Lyons Club and school sponsored youth speech contests. Our club has sponsored Toastmaster Youth Leadership programs in our local high schools and grade schools. We have been guest speakers at many of our local businesses, community clubs and the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce.

The club has proudly sponsored three new Toastmaster clubs, Teichert Toastmasters at Teichert Construction Company in Sacramento, Road Ramblers at the Department of Transportation in Stockton and Calavaras Croakers in San Andreas.

Because of our consistent dedication to excellence in education and leadership, we consistently receive the highest honor bestowed on a club by Toastmasters International, the Presidents Distinguished Club Award

We encourage participation as a club officer or even to take part as a District leader. Many club members choose to take up an Area, Division or District role. We also encourage our members to participate in the Toastmasters International speech contests held twice a year. It's a great opportunity to experience situations outside the club.

We encourage each other to become all we can be. We are a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life and each of us has a special story to tell.

We warmly invite you to visit our club and give voice to YOUR potential.
